FOSTERING

Fostering a dog can ABSOLUTELY save a life! Ace of Hearts has no shelter and is reliant upon a fostering network to provide temporary homes for our animals. Our dogs are kept in foster homes until they are placed in permanent happy homes of their own. Currently, we have very limited foster resources, and as a result we often have to turn animals in need away because there is no one to foster them.

Foster homes provide the love and shelter while Ace of Hearts pays for the food, and all medical expenses. A foster home is invaluable, because the foster parent gains insight to the dog's personality to help us better match them with the perfect home. The foster parent needs to be able to transport the dog to and from our pet adoptions held on the weekends.

The average time a animal is usually fostered is several weeks; however, it could be as little as a few days or as much as a few months. Although we prefer the animal remain in one foster home until it finds a permanant home, we realize this is not always possible. Foster parents have the right to discontinue fostering at any time for any reason. So whether you can foster for a couple of days, weeks or months your services can be useful!

If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster home, please contact us at 310-358-3344, or stop by on our pet adoption days - we'd be happy to discuss it with you!
